What's the role?
We are looking for a talented Electronic Engineer with a few years of experience who will join the Embedded Systems Team to contribute to the development of new strategic products as well as improvement of our high-end tool portfolio. They will team up with our experts in a multidisciplinary setup to design and develop mid to high complexity electronic systems and PCBAs, image processing and other advanced algorithms. This will enable strong differentiation of Hilti products in the market.
What does the role involve?
- Design and verification of mid-to-high complexity systems, featuring DSP, microcontrollers, analogue front ends, and high frequency circuitry (RF).
- Modelling in MATLAB/Simulink and implementation of FPGA designs from simulation to synthesis and placement is a plus
- Regular structured reporting on said activities and assist in cross-functional technical reviews as prescribed by our internal development process
- Support and where possible/appropriate drive industrialization of PCBAs with our Mass Production Suppliers
- Planning own activities to meet project targets as set within the specific Project Core Team
What you need is:
- Engineering or Physics background with a master’s degree or higher
- 3-5years in similar positions within electronics or technology development organisations
- Proficient at design, testing and validation of mid-to-high complexity circuits and systems e.g., DSP, camera chips and video streaming, optoelectronics, sensors, encoders, high precision motor drives
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation of controls, algorithms, and data analysis is a plus
