We are looking for a highly skilled Pizzaiolo, based in Geneva, to join our restaurant team. The 200-seat restaurant is a self-service cafeteria with various food stations, including a pizza station.
The Pizzaiolo will be responsible of preparing high-quality pizzas that meets the Executive Chef's standards, and ensuring that the station is sanitary and well-stocked. The successful candidate will employ its culinary and managerial skills to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our guest’s satisfaction. He/she will also have to ensure compliance with food safety and employment guidelines.
• Preparing pizza dough, sauces and toppings
• Cleaning and mise en place of the pizza station before service
• Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens and cooking times.
• Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies as needed
• Plating or packaging pizzas accordingly.
• Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
• Collaborating with the rest of the culinary team to ensure high-quality food and service.
• Keeping the area of the kitchen safe and sanitary according to the Health, Safety, Fire, and Hygiene guidelines and procedures.
• Improving food preparation methods based on feedback.
• Assisting in other areas of the kitchen when required.
• Monitoring portion and waste control
• Attend any training that has been set up to aid your own personal development.
• Ensuring high standards are consistently met and making sure your personal appearance and uniform are always in line with the required standards;
• High school degree or equivalent required;
• Good French and English level. Any other language is an advantage;
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of culinary experience;
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of culinary management experience;
• Knowledge and ability to run a section
• Team management skills
• Previous experience in high volume and/or upscale restaurants a plus;
• Previous experience preparing pizzas is a plus;
• Ability to deliver fresh food to high standards;
• Ability to cope well under pressure;
• Excellent personality and drive.
