Data Infrastructure Engineer Position

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland

We are a leading and international institutional brokerage group, operating hi-touch, hybrid or fully electronic trading venues. Our customers are the largest investment banks, commercial banks, hedge funds, asset managers, as well as the most active corporations in the energy derivatives markets. We are also a vendor of market data. Researching on how new technologies can be embedded across our activities and drive our group toward a data-driven digital organization, we have established a Data Science Lab with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. This was recently complemented by the establishment of a Data Engineering Team, to develop new data capabilities.

As part of the Data Engineering Team, your mission will be to develop and maintain the enterprise Data Platform. The platform aims at serving data processing, data consumption, business intelligence analytical tools, and development applications.

To expand the team, we are looking for a data infrastructure engineer who is proficient in Docker and has experience with data storage solutions, as well as a sharp problem-solving mindset.

Objectives and responsibilities of this role

• Oversee all the platform’s technical facets to provide best-in-class data and services to users.

• Create, automate, and maintain data pipelines originating from diverse data sources, intended for consumption by various systems and users.

• Improve the platform’s architecture with respect to the infrastructure and business requirements.

• Develop state-of-the-art continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to ensure the continuity of the platform’s development and operations.

• Work closely with business IT teams, data scientists, and external providers, if the case may be, to deploy, automate, and monitor data processing, machine learning pipelines, and web applications.

• Develop and maintain documentation of data infrastructure and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, technology engineering or equivalent

• Strong interest in the data infrastructure landscape and related topics

• Experience with ETL processes, data lakes, data warehouses, relational databases, and applications running on Docker

• Experience with building CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Gitlab, or similar is a plus

• Familiar with technologies such as Spark or Airflow

• Knowledge of Linux, Python, and SQL

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within the team and with external stakeholders

• Excellent spoken and written English
