About the Programme
The GE Aerospace MOLP transitions talented Military Officers into successful commercial industry leaders, by completing an accelerated, challenging and structured development program, supported by executive mentoring, coaching and our global Veterans network. Giving successful candidates the opportunity to develop broad business experience, and exposure to commercial leadership challenges within GE Aerospace and commercial industry.
You will be given the opportunity to demonstrate and further develop your transferable skills gained from your military service and apply them to solve complex business problems and effect short and long-term business goals.
Development of business skills primary takes place through rotation-based experiences where the successful candidate is given the opportunity to take on three challenging assignments in different areas of the business to explore how their unique military skills may fit within a business environment.
The majority of roles are based from the GE Aerospace Defense and Systems Electrical Power Distribution and Controls site at Cheltenham and Dowty Propellers site at Brockworth, Gloucestershire, however, the programme offers opportunities to work at other UK GE Aerospace sites in the UK.
We recognise and understand the timelines involved with leaving the Armed Forces and offer flexible start dates.
Essential Responsibilities
MOLP is offered to those who have excelled in their military careers, and have a proven record of dealing with challenging, less defined scopes of work, are comfortable with ambiguity and can influence others to deliver on priorities. You will be expected to problem solve, develop strategies and plans to succeed in a variety of business challenges.
During MOLP, you should expect to deliver against some or all of the below (rotation dependent):
- Lead a multi-disciplinary project team, providing direction and drive, to satisfy project deliverables
- Deliver professional, high-quality results to customers by managing, expediting and influencing priority activities across our matrix organisation
- Manage continuous improvement or lean projects to deliver tangible financial or efficiency gains
- Manage key business metrics (schedule, cost, etc.) for assigned projects, and generate regular program updates for internal management
- Assist in sales campaigns for new and/or modified contracts and proposals
- Perform marketing assessment of competitors, products and / or services
Qualifications/Requirements
- Commissioned Military Officer

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Currently serving in the Armed Forces or recent Service leaver
- Proven record of success throughout military career
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and eager to develop business acumen and master new roles
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to be accountable for actions
- Ability to solve problems, delegate, and achieve difficult goals
