The team of the Department for Software Development, Usability Consulting and IT Infrastructure (ASCII) consists of developers, system administrators, usability experts and scientists and provides services to internal and external clients. In the area of software development, we design, implement and maintain innovative e-learning and e-assessment products that are successfully used by international educational institutions. We are looking to strengthen our team with a
Mobile Developer (m/f/d) 80-100%
Our small team is responsible for the development of the Valuatic software suite (valuatic.com), which is used worldwide for off- and online assessments of students in the medical field.
We use cross-platform technologies to target multiple platforms (iOS, macOS, Windows) and maintain a high standard of quality and reliability, leveraging cutting-edge native technologies.
Your role:
You will be primarily responsible for the development of the Valuatic Touch iOS application, but you will also be involved in other team projects:
- implement user interfaces for Valuatic Touch & Studio
- participate in conceptual decisions, working closely with clients and UX designers
- design and extend the architecture of our cross-platform framework
- maintain and manage our toolchain and device lab
- facilitate user testing sessions with our clients and write unit tests
- assist with project management, release planning and milestone definition
- advise and support our examination teams
- provide support to international clients in English, German and French
We are looking for someone who:
- holds a degree in software development
- has at least three years of experience in native iOS development
- has expertise in the UIKit framework and a solid understanding of Apple's APIs
- is skilled in asynchronous, multi-threaded, and reactive programming techniques
- embraces close collaborations with developers, UX designers, and clients
- can easily adapt to changing requirements and shifting priorities
- approaches challenges pragmatically, always considering the broader context
- takes initiative and demonstrates proactivity in daily tasks
- continuously learns and keeps updated with the latest technologies
- is fluent in English and/or German
You will be exposed to additional technologies, it would therefore be beneficial to have:
- experience with .NET for iOS and macOS (formerly Xamarin)
- proficiency in C# and .NET
- familiarity with cross-platform frameworks
- knowledge of Windows development (WinUI, WPF, etc.)
- ability to develop efficiently on both Mac and Windows platforms
