Job Purpose
The department Finance for Operations ensures the business partner function for the production sites of the Straumann Group and for the global Operations functions E2E SC, QARA, EHS & S, Transformation office and Head of Operations.
The Senior Manager Finance Global Operations – Transformation is leading and supporting transformational projects in Finance for Operations. This includes the preparation, setting the framework, drive standardization, harmonizations for value flows and master data and migration to SAP S/4 Hana of our production network as well as continues improvements of our Operations Controlling and Product Costing. He/she closely collaborates with the Head of Finance Global Operations, the Finance Business Partners Operations, the Site controllers and other functions in Operations.
Additionally he/she will be the Plant Controller for our biomaterial production site in Malmö, Sweden. A key member of the Plant Management Team he/she will be involved in evaluating and selecting the organization’s strategy and objectives by providing the necessary analysis to make informed decisions. The role will communicate and track financial and operational KPI’s with all department heads and will ensure internal controls are effective. He/she will also lead the planning, closing and reporting processes and systems (strategic planning, budget, forecast, actuals) of the site.
Furthermore the role will support on the global consolidation of COGS and GM planning, analyses and reporting for the Straumann Group. This position reports to the Head of Finance for Global Operations and is located in Basel.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Senior Manager Finance Global Operations for Transformation projects
- Drive standardization, harmonizations for value flows and master data
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) during SAP implementation and upgrade projects
- Validate solutions through testing, ensuring alignment with functional specifications
- Provide necessary analysis to make informed decisions on strategy and objectives for the Malmö production site, especially capacity analysis to support investment decisions
- Responsible for the planning, closing and reporting processes for Malmö production site
- Supporting the global coordination and consolidation of actuals, forecast, budget and strategic planning for the operations area
- Preparation of (sections of) presentations for the executive management board and audit committee
- Ad-hoc analysis and participation in projects in multifunctional teams
Requirements needed
Education
- Master in Finance or Controlling or Engineering.
Experience
- 5 years plus of experience in operations / production controlling and product costing
- Experience in an international matrix organization
- Experience in medical device industry or other highly regulated industry is a plus
- Experience with SAP (FI/CO, PP, BW)

- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in written form
- Good business acumen and IT affinity (e.g. business intelligence software)
- Good project management skills
- Willing to travel to manufacturing sites (approx. 10%)
- Fluent in English. German, French and/or any further language an asset
