For the High Energy Particle Physics group of the Laboratory for Particle Physics we are looking for a

Your tasks

The High-Energy Physics Group at PSI is part of the CMS collaboration at the CERN LHC with leading contributions in detector development, operation and data analysis, where the main focus is on Standard Model and Higgs boson physics. The group is also playing an active role in the upgrade of the CMS detector for the High-Luminosity LHC and is responsible for the design and construction of the extended pixel system.

In close cooperation with scientists, students and technicians at PSI as well as with collaborating groups you will

  • Take a leading role in data analysis in the field of Higgs physics
  • Contribute to physics object and event reconstruction
  • Contribute to detector development activities, depending on mutual interest
  • Present the results of your work at conferences and in publications
  • Contribute to service work and operations within the CMS collaboration

Your profile

  • You have a PhD degree in experimental particle physics
  • You have demonstrated experience in data analysis
  • You have proficient language skills in English and good communication skills
  • You are motivated and independent, strive to contribute with new ideas and like to work in international collaborations
