As part of our recently established Data & Analytics team, you will play a key role in implementing our data strategy and shaping a modern data landscape. You will bring your expertise from commodity trading or financial services and interact closely with our IT architecture team. You will take ownership of our business data domain model, influence enterprise data standards and enable our pragmatic journey towards a data driven, future-ready trading company.

What you will do:

• 
  Business Data Model: Design and implement scalable data models and structures that ensure data integrity and quality. Collaborate with relevant business units to understand data needs, translate them into functional requirements and support the translation into the technical requirements.





• 
  Data Architecture: Develop and oversee the data architecture strategy from the business point of view, focus on reducing data replication and ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide standards and future target states. Define how data will flow through the organisation to support various activities, e.g. ensuring proper entitlement of licensed data, definition and delivery of data products





• 
  Collaboration: Partner with IT architecture, hubs, and cross-functional teams to embed data principles and align with business priorities. Collaborate with external vendors to enhance data capabilities.

• 
  Governance and Monitoring: Establish data & performance metrics and monitoring strategies to ensure the robustness and scalability of data systems.

• 
  Stakeholder Engagement: Mentor business users, facilitate adoption of data principles, and act as a key liaison between business needs and technical teams.

What you bring & who you are:

• 10+ years of experience in data management or architecture, with 5+ years in a senior role.





• Expertise in designing scalable data solutions, data modeling, and governance frameworks.





• Extensive experience in energy commodity trading or financial services is a must.





• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to drive consensus and bridge business and technical teams.





• Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL), analytics tools, and modern data technologies.no





• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.





• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

At Axpo, the Senior Business Data Architect will be part of the Data & Analytics Office, a newly established function to drive data & analytics maturity across the business area Trading & Sales. You will collaborate with a passionate and innovative team across business units and have close interaction with the IT architecture team.
