Job purpose
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of tax reporting requirements to meet statutory and internal deadlines
- Work with other Finance Towers to identify process improvement and report enhancement opportunities to reduce processing time
Duties and responsibilities
- Serve as point of contact of tax advisors for direct, indirect and other taxes of assigned IWG entities
- Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of the day-to-day operational deliverables of Tax (reports, filing, submissions, tax payments, Tax Entries, tax audits, etc.)
- Accountable to correct errors communicated by the Reviewers and provide answers to queries/questions on the deliverables submitted
- Reports any red flags (risk of delays) or escalates issues that need urgent management attention
- Responsible in the timely updating of BAU tracker and saving related documents supporting filing in the share-point
- Responsible in receiving and extractions of documents pertaining to Tax Audits
- BAU communication with Tax Advisors
- Coordinate funding and payment of taxes based on established guidelines to meet statutory deadline
- Flag inconsistent application of WHT matrix
- Ensure final returns, working files and other related documents are stored on SharePoint and determine if there are documents required by country law to be archived physically
- Keep abreast of all regulatory changes impacting assigned IWG entities
- Where required or requested:
- Compile requirements (e.g. residence certificate) to avail of tax treaty relief or exemption
- Review data input for tax calculation and put in place control checks
- Prepare analysis and schedules required during tax inspection of assigned IWG entities
- Assist in corporate income tax return preparation and/or filing
- Provide input for tax accounting/reconciliation purposes
- Complete statistical surveys and other reports for local compliance
- Prepare or update process documentation for assigned tasks
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Financial Admin & Compliance Manager
Qualifications
- Preferably CPA
- At least 2-3 years of experience in tax compliance and/or tax reporting
- Proficient in MS applications
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal
- Able to prioritize tasks, manage issues and produce results in a timely manner
- Highly analytical
- Can work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
- Team player
- The following are preferred but not required:
- Knowledge of international tax
- Experience in Big 4
- Background in BPO/Shared Services operations
- Experience in dealing with and managing 3rd party service providers
