Product Control is focused on the trading and treasury activities of Julius Baer. Independent compilations of profit and loss figures allow for a transparent and save business environment that ensures ‘checks and balances’. Reconciliations of positions, cash accounts and profit and loss statements ensure data integrity across systems; parameter checks ensure proper and consistent valuations.
Treasury Product Control collaborates closely with Treasury and ALM function but also coordinates with Accounting, Front Office Trading, Regulatory Reporting, Model Validation, Market Risk and Risk Governance to ensure the soundness and suitability of balance sheet risk management and solidity of Treasury’s financial result in Julius Baer.
Within the DCFO Products & Balance Sheet department, Product Control (PC) assures daily operations in terms of profit and loss reporting, FOBO reconciliation, reconciliation with financial accounting and price testing for all markets activities (trading and sales).
IHRE AUFGABEN
- Product Control tasks across main asset classes (fixed income, FX|PM,…), including FOBO reconciliation between front trading systems and core banking system, independent price verification (IPV), valuation adjustments calculation (Bid-Offer, liquidity, overhedges, XVA), daily trading P&L statements including P&L explanation, month-end reconciliation versus financial statements
- Building up comprehensive Treasury PC function integrating all PC tasks within the IT system landscape
- Team head function for the Treasury PC activities
- Preparation of management information via regular reporting, ad-hoc analyses and presentations to group asset liability committee and other internal and external stakeholders
- Assessing new products in the new product approval process
- Increase efficiency of current processes (review, propose enhancements, drive implementation) and increase degree of automation
- Close collaboration with specialists from other teams within Market Risk and Finance (MIS & Accounting)
- Stakeholder in Product Control roadmap projects to increase overall efficiency
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar
- Strong experience in Risk or Finance (+10 years), ideally in Product Control unit
- In-depth knowledge for fixed income, FX products and related derivatives
- Experience in front trading applications
- Excellent know-how in process optimisation and automation
- Programming skills (SQL, Python or alike) desired
- Team-oriented, able to collaborate with highly qualified, technically minded staff
- Excellent English skills, every other language is an advantage
