The fixed contract will be for three years, which is foreseen in SNFS-funded project. It is targeted to start in October 2024.
Project background
The Hepatology group of the Department of Visceral Surgery and Medicine, Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, University of Bern, is a leading international teaching and research institution in the field of chronic liver disease. The ongoing study is committed to examining novel mechanisms of action underlying fibrosis progression. The project aims to test hepatic cellular crosstalk and the immune response during liver fibrosis development, as well as to elucidate the molecular mechanisms behind the progression to liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension.

Tasks

  • Perform cell culture, protein analysis, molecular biology under guidance
  • Collect, and analyze wet-lab data
  • Enroll at the Graduate School of Cellular and Biomedical Sciences (GCB)
  • Write and publish original research articles

Your qualifications

To complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications:
  • An excellent Master's degree in life science or biomedical sciences or equivalent.
  • Interest in cell and molecular biology as well as in vivo animal experiments.
  • Highly motivated, eager to learn and team-oriented.
  • Reliability and ability to work in an international team, as well as in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Prior experience in cell and molecular biology and laboratory skills are a plus.
