About the role:
As an R&D Client Director for our operations in Germany, you will be a key player in driving client-focused initiatives within a growing market. Your main goal will be to expand our client base and deepen relationships with key clients in Germany. You will act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met with tailored solutions and ongoing support. This role is ideal for someone who excels in building relationships, has a strategic mindset, and understands the digital transformation within the R&D sector. You’ll leverage new opportunities with both prospective and existing clients, contributing to the growth of our portfolio and long-term success.
The position is based out of Switzerland, and you will be reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.
In this role your key responsibilities will be:
Business Development and Account Growth:
- Identify new business opportunities and areas for account expansion, including upselling additional services and products.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of new clients and prospects.
- Lead strategic discussions and presentations, aligning company offerings with client goals to drive growth.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the R&D sector, serving as their primary point of contact.
- Understand clients' needs, objectives, and challenges, offering customized solutions and strategies.
- Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address any concerns or issues.
Collaboration and Delivery:
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver services and solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Provide regular updates and reports on account status, performance, and growth opportunities to the management team.
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a candidate with a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree and preferably the following experience and competencies:
- Experience in Consultancy and R&D:
5+ years of consultancy experience, with a proven track record in supporting digital transformation projects, particularly in the pharma and/or biotech sectors.
5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or life science R&D, with a history of successfully delivering projects in this field.
- Excellent Sales and Client Relationship Management skills:
Extensive experience in sales within a similar business environment.
Ability to understand and address client needs, developing tailored proposals and solutions that meet their unique challenges.
Proven success in building and nurturing long-term client relationships, as well as identifying opportunities for account growth and upselling additional services.
- Communication, Collaboration & Cultural Competences:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and organizational levels.
Fluent in both German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Cross-cultural competence and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
- Digital Expertise and Problem-Solving skills:
Experience with digital technologies, particularly in R&D systems, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the digital transformation of R&D.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
