Introduction
Unilabs is the largest provider of medical laboratory diagnostics for prescribers and hospitals in Switzerland and employs around 800 people.
Your Tasks
Main responsibilities/ activities
- Leads the Swiss accounting function (General Ledger, Account Payable/Receivable, Treasury…)
- Supervises and is accountable for the monthly, quarterly, yearly accounting closes in accordance with Financial Group Manual (Swiss Gaap and IFRS Gaap)
- Accountable for Group financial reporting (Aaro) including meeting deadlines
- Manage statutory to IFRS GAAP reporting differences, assessing the implication for the Group and ensure completeness of both local and management reporting
- Maintaining the chart of accounts and ensuring accounting standards and data quality of submissions from subsidiaries is of a high standard and in compliance with group requirements
- Accountable for Cash flow reporting (Kyriba)
- Ensures adherence to the Group internal controls framework
- Manages and oversees the various external audit processes
- Financial & accounting systems (incl. receivables & payables): coordinates and draws on appropriate resources in order to ensure systems meet the accounting needs.
- Supports, leads, or represent CH Finance in certain Country or Group projects
- Efficiently interfaces and supports CH business controlling
- Preparation of internal monthly Management reports together with analysis and commentaries on the results for the period
Main objectives of this function
- Ensure accurate, timely, efficient and compliant financial reporting process including coordination of period-end closing activities, management and group reporting, including regulatory in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Design & reorganize the Swiss accounting function, in particular define specialized tasks (staged approach) and CH key users/ leads (AR, AP, FA, Tr)
- Select best practices and align accounting practices & closing processes in Switzerland, including inputs from functions outside finance.
- Support the implementation of new Group internal control policies
- Implementation of the structure and accounting standard on acquisitions
- Lead the finance transformation (ERP)
- Develop a strong relationship with responsibilities of Labs and regions management to build a strong functional reporting and control framework. Utilize these relationships to understand the different business models and strategies applied in different locations to better understand the Swiss operations in relation with the finance
Key interfaces
- Internal: Group: Head of Group Accounting/ CH: Accounting heads; CH Business Controlling function, other CH functional/ regional heads.
- External: Audit (E&Y, PWC), collection agencies, support of reporting processes with external customer
Your Profile
Qualifications
- French and German or Swiss German, English is required for this position
- 7 -9 years’ experience in a similar role
- Used to working with strong methodologies and very well structured
- Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines, lead a team (25 pers.)
- Must be savvy in technology and software
- Master’s degree or equivalent
