Your area of responsibility
- Ensure, manage and oversee the overall compliance of customs & foreign trade related procedures according to the applicable rules and regulations in the different countries were maxon operates.
- Internal point of contact for specific questions regarding export & import control, customs and foreign trade issues within the maxon group to ensure compliance and alignment in all customs matters.
- Providing support for export licenses, including contact with authorities.
- Monitor customs and foreign trade related legislative changes and ensure that regulation changes are communicated and implemented throughout the company.
- Training of relevant functions in customs, foreign trade and export control matters and ensure that they can assume their responsibility and accountability.
- Ensuring trade compliance and freight forwarding in the provision of frictionless and legally compliant transportation of goods along the entire supply chain.
- Liaise with the different external stakeholders such as State Secretariat for Economic Affairs with respect to export control and customs matters where necessary, including Customs Administration, freight forwarders, etc.
- Administration and maintenance of the requirements for preferential origin for the application of free trade agreements.
- Continuous improvement and process optimization (including automated tasks), internal process descriptions and procedures aimed to harmonize and supervise the handling regarding export control, customs and foreign trade aspects within the maxon group. Lead corresponding projects.
- Supervise and coordinate regarding the determination of customs tariff classification of products.
- Conduct periodic reviews and spot checks of export control, customs and foreign trade handling within the maxon group.
- Definition of intralogistics processes from goods receipt to shipping as a global standard. System adjustments and tests for logistics processes in alignment with IT (defining requirements, formulating specifications, testing).
- Ensuring efficient distribution logistics by continuously reviewing and adjusting logistics partners.
- Collaboration with the global logistics teams and other departments such as finance, sales and quality for import and export tasks and problem solving
- Setting targets and framework conditions with forwarders, logistics providers and transport insurers.

Your area of responsibility
In this demanding position you ensure, manage and oversee the overall compliance of customs & foreign trade related procedures according to the applicable rules and regulations in the different countries where maxon operates.
The following core tasks are part of your area of activity:
- Act as internal point of contact for specific questions regarding export & import control, customs and foreign trade issues within the maxon group to ensure compliance and alignment in all customs matters. Liaise with different external stakeholders such as State Secretariat for Economic Affairs with respect to export control and customs matters, including Customs Administration, freight forwarders, etc.
- Provide support for export licenses, including contact with authorities, monitor customs and foreign trade related legislative changes and ensure that regulation changes are communicated and implemented throughout the company.
- Ensuring trade compliance and freight forwarding in the provision of frictionless and legally compliant transportation of goods along the entire supply chain. Training of relevant functions in customs, foreign trade and export control matters is important to you.
- Definition of intralogistics processes from goods receipt to shipping as a global standard including System adjustments and tests in alignment with IT (defining requirements, formulating specifications, testing). Continuous improvement and process optimization and realisation of periodic reviews and spot checks of export control, customs and foreign trade handling within the maxon group.
- Last but not least you administrate and maintain the requirements for preferential origin for the application of free trade agreements. Supervision and coordnination regarding the determination of customs tariff classification of products will also be part of your daily business.
Your profile
- Successfully completed studies or similar qualification in economics, international trade, logistics or other related fields.
Comprehensive knowledge and professional experience (at least 5 years) in national and international export control law as well as very good knowledge of customs, tariff, customs procedures and preferential origin law. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English. Excellent teamwork, communication-, presentation- and training skills Profound expertise in project management with corresponding proof of performance Strategic thinking and operational implementation skills. Motivation, resilience, structured and self-directed work approach with high quality standards. Willingness to work in a challenging and dynamic environment. Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively Willingness to travel up to 20% Experience in a matrix organization Preferably located in Switzerland or within the European Union- successfully completed studies or similar qualification in economics, international trade, logistics or other related fields
- have comprehensive knowledge and professional experience (at least 5 years) in national and international export control law as well as very good knowledge of customs, tariff, customs procedures and preferential origin law
- can show profound expertise in project management with corresponding proof of performance and are a stratecic thinking person with operational implementation skills
- are experienced with working in matrix organizations, are a teamworker and have excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
- are willing to travel up to 20%
