Upstream Process Development – 6 months paid Internship in Biopole

Ferring+You
As part of the Ferring strategy to strengthen its Biologics portfolio, you will be part of the Upstream process development team within the Ferring Biologic Innovation Center (FBIC).
This internship aims in developing a hybrid perfusion/fed-batch process in bioreactor also referred as intensified process. This type of processes allows to put together the best of these two modes of production.
The first part of the process will be based on perfusion technology with the aim of increasing the number of cells in the N-1 bioreactor. The second part of the process will be about high biomass fed-batch optimization to ensure overall improved productivity while maintaining consistent product quality.

The typical candidate for this role is a master student in Bioprocessing (Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or any related field).
It will be beneficial for the candidate to demonstrate all or some of the skills, competences, and experiences below:

Know-how in CHO cells process development

At ease with aseptic work under laminar flow hood and sensibilized about contamination prevention

Theoretical understanding of the different mode of production (perfusion, fed-batch)

Experience working with mammalian cells (CHO cells) and/or bioreactor would be a plus

Willingness to learn and develop

Communicate orally and in writing fluently in English
