The University of Bern offers over 120 continuing education programs. The Center for University Continuing Education (ZUW) supports and advises the university's faculties and institutes in the planning, organization, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of these programs, while also offering its own continuing education opportunities.
Tasks
General Accounting
- Oversee all financial operations, including monitoring and reporting activities
- Manage and control IPDET account balances
- Prepare and compile annual financial statements
- Manage financial reporting and forecasting, including the preparation of semi-annual financial reconciliation and reporting to the World Bank.
- Disburse grant payments and coordinate the annual external audit
- Maintain and update the World Bank's grant management system, "Client Connection"
- Coordinate closely with the World Bank task manager of IPDET and the financial management team to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Manage tender processes and contract administration
- Manage the World Bank's procurement system, "STEP"
- Coordinate closely with the World Bank task manager of IPDET and the procurement team to ensure that procurement procedures and reporting are in line with the World Bank's grant requirements
- Coordinate and monitor accounting activities for entities responsible for regional program deliveries
- Work closely with the Head of Program and Program Officer to develop and manage budget plans
Requirements
- Commercial qualification, ideally with an accounting focus
- Several years of relevant experience in financial administration, accounting and financial reporting, preferably in grant management within an international organization
- Knowledge of VAT regulations is an advantage
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both German and English
- Proficient in IT applications related to accounting
- High level of resilience and adaptability
- Independent, solution-oriented approach to work
- Quick to grasp new concepts and adapt to new tasks
