Your position
We are looking for a colleague to join and enrich our research group in the long term. Our applied research evaluates how nature and society interact and how environmental policy and ecosystem management can influence both. We are looking for a dynamic, reliable and motivated candidate with a PhD in biology, ecology, environmental sciences or related disciplines (e.g., forestry, biostatistics, remote sensing) and at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience. The candidate will develop an independent line of research within the field of conservation biology and applied ecology and team up with group members to develop new ideas in this field. The position includes teaching in Ecology and Global Change-related subjects within the framework of the Master Course on Sustainable Development and supervision of students. Interaction with the group and associated partners requires spoken and written English and (ideally) German language skills.
We offer you
We offer an interesting position in an international and interdisciplinary research environment at the University of Basel. The workload of the position is 50% and salary and social benefits are provided according to the University of Basel rules. The position will initially be for four years with the option of becoming permanent, depending on the performance of the candidate. A 50% research position allows applications to competitive funding / grants.
