Context & mission
Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).
The MSF movement is built around 5 operational centers supported by 24 sections and offices worldwide. MSF Operational Center Geneva (MSF OCG) is one of these centers.
The Learning and Development (L&D) pole analyses needs, defines and implements strategies, mechanisms and tools to increase the knowledge and know-how of staff, in accordance with the objectives, values and the choices made by the organization. The aim is to ensure the global workforce has access to solutions to develop their skills, grow in their field of competence and perform better in their roles.
The organization is calling for a greater support to the departments and the ‘filières’ in terms of L&D strategy, which is largely reflected in the objectives of the strategic plan.
Considering the ambitions of the organization to be more inclusive and to provide more L&D opportunities to a majority of the global workforce, L&D is creating a set up that enables to scale up the deployment of programs.
The L&D support Officer is responsible for the implementation of learning programs and learning events. His/her main mission is to provide organizational and technical support so that the learning solutions are implemented in a learner centric manner.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Organization of OCG Learning activities
Ensure support to the L&D team and counterparts by being responsible for the organization of L&D events, their proper implementation and smooth delivery:

Organizes the preparation and implementation of Face-to-Face Trainings: communication with participants, welcoming them, flight tickets and visa follow-up, hotel and room booking...

Provides technical and organizational support to learners and trainers for the smooth delivery of blended learnings and virtual classes: ensure that the learning environment is adapted, technical briefing on Tools, uploading of pedagogical contents in our LMS, moderation, communication with participants, attendance follow-up…

Manages training advertisements, compilation of applications and relations with selection committees.

Co-facilitates sessions on demand

Accompany learners in their Learning activities and proposed solutions

Develops and manages course evaluations and track data and analytics about usage, attendance, and other metrics.

Proposes and contributes to the elaboration of tools and procedures related to the organization of Learning activities in the frame of the digital transformation.

Follows-up on other specific HR procedures as needed

Acts as a focal point in specific learning programs (LEAP, language courses, external partnerships...)
Organizational support to the L&D Unit

Ensure the smooth running of the L&D Unit, in its internal & external communication

Actively participates in updates to the L&D Offer and internal organizational schedules

Organizes L&D briefing with staff involved in learning activities.

Manages the generic e-mail address of the L&D

Supports the unit in the management of information, and contribute to the update of the online knowledge management platforms such as Kompas and Share Point

Depending on the workload distribution of team members, may also:

organizes weekly team meetings

provides support in the organization of recruitment & Administrative HR follow-up

be involved in the invoices & budget follow-up

Your profile
Education
-
Higher Education, preferably in HR or Administration
Experience
-
Two years' work experience, preferably in relation with Learning & Development activities;
-
Field experience an asset.
-
Knowledge of MSF an asset.
Languages
-
English and French are the working languages of MSF Switzerland. Fluency in both English and French is required for this position (oral and written).

A 3rd language is an asset
Skills/ Technical competencies

Ability to manage multiple tasks and information simultaneously, with different stakeholder interactions

Good command of MS Office (especially Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) and collaborative Tools (Sharepoint, Zoom, Mural...)

Terms of employment

Full-time position 100% (40h/week)

Open-ended contract

Working place: Geneva, Switzerland

Ideal start date: July 2025

Gross annual salary (for 100%): from CHF 80’856.- to CHF 97’224.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid)

Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period.

Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member.
-
Relocation package if moving from a different country to Switzerland.
