Axpo is seeking a Senior Petroleum Analyst to support our proprietary trading activities with high-quality fundamental analysis and innovative market insights. Your expertise in modeling, market dynamics, and refinery economics will be pivotal to our success in a volatile and dynamic oil market.
What you will do:
- Develop and maintain global and regional supply and demand balances for major oil products.
- Build medium-term balances on light-ends, distillates, and fuel oil.
- Monitor market trends, geopolitics, and regulatory changes to anticipate price dynamics.
- Provide timely responses to desk and trader requests with data-driven insights and forecasts.
- Suggest trading opportunities such as structure (time spreads), cracks, and inter-product spreads.
- Expand the data universe through new data sources and enhance existing models for accuracy and reliability.
What you bring & who you are:
- University degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or economics.
- 6+ years of experience in building petroleum product supply and demand models.
- Expertise in global petroleum markets, refinery economics, and trading environments.
- Proficient in coding, database management, and Excel, with experience connecting to APIs and using data scraping.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with fluency in English (additional languages a plus).
- Team player who thrives under pressure and in volatile markets.
