Become part of the Axpo Trainee community. Collaborate with various divisions, gain exciting and in-depth insights into the world of energy and build up a group wide network. Every six months, you will join a different team and take on responsibility for new projects.

The traineeship begins on 1st of October 2025 and is limited to 18 months with the option of a permanent position

What you will do:

• Gain deep insights into the focus topics Strategy, Energy Economics, Innovation and Sustainability, but as well as other division such as Energy Trading, Generation and Distribution, …


• Work on various operational and strategic tasks and take on responsibility from day one


• Contribute innovative solutions, thus leaving a footprint through your engagement


• The first assignment will be in our Sustainability team ♻️🌱, where you will:
  
  
  • Support the development of the sustainability report
  
  
  • Contribute to the Net Zero roadmap and its implementation
  
  
  • Develop concepts for biodiversity strategies
  
  
  
  


• Two out of the three assignments are fixed, one is up to your interest, e.g. Trading & Sales department, Generation & Distribution, or even at our subsidiary CKW or an international Axpo Hub.🚀

What you bring &who you are:

• 
  
  • Master’s degree 🎓 in engineering, environmental sciences, economics, business administration, or a related field (no more than 2 years of post-graduation professional experience)
  
  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel), python skills are a plus
  
  
  • Analytical and conceptual approach to problem solving and ability to communicate and present complex problems in simple terms
  
  
  • Collaborative, proactive, and empathetic mindset
  
  
  • First working experience as an intern, working student or similar, experience in the energy sector is a plus
  
  
  • Fluent in English and German

You will become part of the 18th trainee generation. Meet regularly for several events, whether it’s lunch or even power plant visits. You will work in the office in Baden, with the flexibility to work from home as well. The fixed traineeship salary is CHF 86’000 per year, including several attractive fringe benefits.
