We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join AXA XL’s global corporate Investment Accounting team. This role is critical in managing the accounting for a diverse portfolio of investments, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative assets. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for the company’s investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with relevant IFRS standards.
- Perform month-end close activities for the investment portfolio ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting. Conduct detailed reconciliations of investment positions and transactions to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and review investment-related financial statements and disclosures in accordance with IFRS. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to support internal and external financial reporting requirements.
- Leverage advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and support comprehensive reporting. Utilize complex formulas, pivot tables and data visualization techniques in Excel, along with Power Query and Power BI, to streamline data transformation and enhance financial analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes related to investment accounting and reporting.
- Collaborate with accounting service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
- Stay updated on relevant regulatory changes and industry trends.
- Ensure robust internal controls over investment accounting processes to comply with both group and local requirements. Engage proactively with internal and external auditors to facilitate thorough and efficient annual audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting.

We are looking for someone who possesses the following abilities and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA or CPA designation preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced level financial accounting and reporting experience [investment accounting preferred].
- Robust knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS standards particularly in relation to investments, foreign exchange (FX), and consolidated financial statements.
- Excellent attention to detail, with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deliverables.
- High degree of proficiency with Excel and other analytical tools, with the ability to work with complex formulas and financial models.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and investment management systems such as Bloomberg, Oracle EBS, SAP, or similar.

The U.S. pay range for this position is USD 78,000 - 123,200. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience, and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
