Investment Data Engineer

As the Investment Data Engineer within the Investment Risk & Data Analytics department, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. 
You will work closely with our data scientists, quant analysts and risk managers to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for analysis to deliver value for investment teams. 
This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-based data solutions, particularly AWS and Snowflake, and  a prior exposure to financial and alternative data. End-goal is to support the development 
of quant and AI solutions for Investment Managers. You will be reporting to the Head of AI Analytics team, our team of data scientists dedicated to designing AI solutions for investment professionals. 
 

Your role

- Designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS services (such as S3, Lambda, Glue, ECS) and Snowflake.
- Collaborating with investment professionals such as data scientists, risk managers and portfolio managers to understand data needs and deliver high-quality and robust data solutions.
- Implementing data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Developing and maintaining documentation for data pipelines, architecture and processes.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering, AWS and Snowflake.
- Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies.

Your profile

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in the asset management or financial services industry or curiosity in financial markets.
- Expertise in AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, ECS and others.
- Extensive experience with Snowflake, including data warehousing, performance optimization, and SQL.
- Proficiency in Python and Git and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with data integration tools and ETL frameworks.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar.
- Familiarity with machine learning and data science workflows is a plus.
- Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.
