Make your mark for patients
We are looking for an Industrial Safety Expert who is proactive, knowledgeable, and collaborative to join our Global Health Safety & Wellbeing team, based in our office in Belgium or Switzerland.
About the Role
As an Industrial Safety Expert, you will develop and implement UCB's industrial safety framework, standards, and programs. You will ensure compliance with local and international regulations, industry standards, and corporate policies. You will advise Operations, Engineering and Sites on technical safety-related topics. You will have a key contribution in our SIF/pSIF elimination program.
Your role involves identifying, mitigating, and controlling industrial safety risks, providing technical expertise, conducting training sessions, reviewing accident investigation, auditing construction projects, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Who You Will Work With
You will collaborate with a dynamic team within the Global Health Safety & Wellbeing department. Together, you will work closely with our sites, our engineering and project teams, and key stakeholders to integrate safety standards and best practices into daily operations and processes. You will also liaise with Patient Supply leaders to ensure alignment and improve Health, Safety, and Wellbeing performance.
What You Will Do
- You develop and implement UCB Global Technical Safety policies and programs.
- You actively contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the UCB Safety by Design process.
- You conduct audits and report on safety performance.
- Provide industrial safety expertise to global projects and standards.
- You support Process Hazard Analysis and other safety methodologies.
- You ensure compliance with safety regulations and corporate policies.
- You review adverse event investigations and promote lessons learned.
- You develop and monitor global industrial safety KPIs.
Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and/or Safety Engineering.
- At least 8 years of experience in a multinational industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of industrial safety practices, technical standards and technologies.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Fluent in English and French.
