Our client is a Swiss-based specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to the commercialization of biosimilars and innovative treatments for rare diseases. They have entered into a partnership with a larger global pharma company and are prepared for an exciting growth journey.
Contribute to all aspects of internal and external medical/scientific activities, including medical operations and processes.
Your main tasks
- Contribute to medical information management, support collaborative external and internal scientific communication/education activities and local evidence generation and/or publication
- Optimize, implement and maintain medical operation processes
- Support and contribute to insight generation activities such as profiling of therapeutic areas, treatment algorithms and patient/HCP journeys, unmet needs, opinions, and research & education interests, etc.
- Proactively propose medical optimization opportunities for medical processes
- Support review and approval of medical and promotional materials
- Contribute to medical strategy development
- In collaboration with the medical team, drive local publication of case reports and real-world data as appropriate
- Contribute to and manage local medical evidence generation
- Provide content and responses to Medical Information requests
- Cover the scientific and educational information needs of KOLs and other relevant HCPs.
- Evaluate indication-relevant publications to integrate into business roll out
- Contribute to the development and execution of external medical education programs, materials, or tools
- Support conduction of insight generation activities such as advisory boards, surveys, and other forms of scientific & medical advice seeking
- Provide medical expertise to regulatory and reimbursement processes within Switzerland
- Effectively support management of projects, programs, or other partnership initiatives
- Reporting and sharing insights with teams and contribute to transform actionable insights into to tactics
- Contribute to internal training curricula on important medical topics
- Follow the highest compliance standards and ensure the execution of all activities in line with Swiss laws and regulations and company policies and procedures
Your profile
- Master in biosciences or related field (MSc) or doctorate degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) preffered
- At least 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a similar medical affairs role (e.g., MSL, Medical Advisor, Medical Manager, real-world data specialist, clinical operations, Medical Information)
- Familiarity with the current Swiss ethical and legal guidelines and regulations of the pharmaceutical industry and understanding of Swiss market dynamics
- Good understanding of local Medical Affairs operations and processes including Medical Information, interaction with health insurances and regulatory authorities, grant and sponsoring processes, scientific communication activities, review of promotional and medical material
- Ability to familiarize yourself quickly and independently with a new therapeutic field and gather relevant facts
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Fluent in German and English. Good command of French preferred
- Willing to travel within Switzerland and to EU congresses
- Depending on canton of residence, willing to travel to the office at least once a month for 2-3 days (brand team meeting, monthly medical meeting)
- Self-starter with proactive and entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to engage in collaborative decision making
- Proven basic bioscience/pharma and/or clinical background to enable engagement of internal and external stakeholders in a scientifically meaningful exchange
- Experience in principles of scientific/medical data analysis and interpretation and ability to effectively communicate such information to both internal and a variety of external customers
- Experience in local evidence generation such as supporting company-sponsored trials, investigator-initiated trials, real-world data, local publication planning and execution
- Previous launch experience and/or solid contacts / established KOL network in relevant therapeutic areas is highly desired
