We are a well-established NGO with a strong sense of tradition and deep local roots. With 250 employees, we offer a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone feels they belong. As part of our commitment to operational excellence, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Expert to join our team.
As a Payroll Expert, you will ensure the smooth and accurate execution of payroll for all staff. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all payroll-related processes, maintaining compliance with Swiss regulations, and contributing to the optimization of systems and workflows.
Specific Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process (Pre-Payrun and Payrun) for approximately 250 employees.
- Accurate and timely maintenance of personnel master data in the payroll and HR systems.
- Coordinating with HR and relevant departments to update employee records, including new hires, changes, and terminations in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely compliance with all deadlines for payroll, social security, and tax-related processes.
- Act as the main point of contact for audits, federal statistics, and labor inspectorate inquiries.
- Process and manage withholding tax settlements, accident and sickness reports in close cooperation with HR team, and other legal requirements.
- Maintain and update personnel files, including permits, certificates, and contact information.
- Support with the payroll migration to Abacus.
The successful candidate will have:
- Completed vocational training or degree, with further specialization as a Payroll or Social Insurance Expert for the Swiss market.
- Strong knowledge of Swiss labor law, social insurance, and tax regulations, including AHV, withholding tax, and pension schemes.
- Proficiency in Abacus (knowledge of Sage is an advantage).
- Fluent in German and English (minimum C1 level in both languages).
- Structured and detail-oriented approach with a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, fostering trust and collaboration.
