The CERN Pension Fund, whose purpose is to insure its members from the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and their families against the economic consequences of disability, old age and death. With around 4,200 active members and 3,700 beneficiaries, the Fund operates as a capitalised defined benefit scheme, with assets totalling approximately CHF 4.5 billion.
You will be working closely with the Head of the Benefits Service and Chief Operating Officer to:
- Develop a comprehensive digital communication strategy to engage effectively with members and beneficiaries and other key stakeholders.
- Optimise the digital tool set including, website structure and management of content, selecting digital tools that enhance user experience.
- Work closely with IT and other colleagues to transition the website to a new platform.
- Design and implement a feedback mechanism to gather insights from members and beneficiaries, supporting continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Benefits Service team to support the design and phased implementation of a digital member and beneficiary portal.
- Coordinate with CERN's Design and Visual identity team to align Pension Fund communications with CERN's overall image and branding.
- Manage administrative tasks related to communications with the governance body responsible for actuarial and technical matters for the Fund.
Your profile
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, adapting style for clarity and engagement in all interactions, including across digital platforms.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools (e.g. publication software, video/photo editing) to enhance user engagement.
- Experience with content management systems (e.g. Drupal and/or WordPress), for content creation and management.
- Understanding of user experience design principles to optimise website navigation and user experience.
- Experience with digital analytics to drive content improvements, adapting quickly to new technologies.
- Strong project management skills, handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams (IT, Design, Diversity & Inclusion).
- Ability to work independently, and proactively.
- Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
- You have a professional background in Digital communications (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
Additional Information
Job closing date: 11.03.2025 at 23:59h (midnight) CET.
Contract duration: 12 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week
