We are looking to strengthen the Quality Control team with a
QC Scientist (f/m/d)
Position Summary
The role is responsible for being the subject matter expert for chemical/biochemical analytical methods within the Quality Control department. Additional knowledge in microbiology assays is appreciated. The Scientist provides expertise for various aspects in process understanding, design and analytics and is expected to question and solve on tasks when clarification or greater technical expertise is required. The role is supposed to support completion of open tasks, as well as owning new projects required for the business continuity, especially in the field of raw materials validation and analytical methods validation.
The Scientist provides expertise for analytical questions related to product development and routine testing. The position is integrated in a multi-disciplinary product team. The team establishes, maintains, and improves the production process for our vaccines. The role is supposed to support completion of open tasks, as well as owning new projects required for the business continuity.
What you can expect
- Join a team that currently consists of 7 dedicated and enthusiastic scientists
- Close interaction with other departments across BN (Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing) and any partners/vendors
- Ownership for the life cycle of analytical methods of your field of expertise, i.e. method development, method validation and method optimization based on product needs
- Investigate and research any abnormalities or non-compliant results from the laboratory (chemistry/biochemistry/microbiology) as well as apply continuously improvement strategies for the in-place processes
- Be part of a fully integrated vaccine company committed to improving and saving lives through innovative vaccines
Your skills and qualifications
- MSc in chemical or biological sciences or related fields, PhD preferred
- Previous scientific experience in QC within the pharmaceutical industry is expected
- Strong knowledge in physicochemical methods (titration, chromatography, etc)
- Preferably background and hands-on experience in the validation of new raw materials and various analytical methods required for product and shelf-life testing
- Manages analytical method life cycle (development, validation, change controls of methods)
- Strong background and hands-on experience with validation of various analytical methods
- Solid foundation in cGMP and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal requirements (Pharmacopoeia, ICH, etc)
- Intermediate knowledge of statistical data analysis and interpretation
- Highly self-motivated able to work with minimum supervision to provide assistance for troubleshooting, laboratory investigations. Suggest process improvements to QC management
- Excellent written (especially technical writing) and verbal communication skills in English. German is a plus but not mandatory
