Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), the leading developer and manufacturer of advanced, efficient, and reliable test equipment for the evaluation of near- and far-field electromagnetic (EM) radiation, EM materials, and their applications, is currently seeking applicants for the post as
SPEAG, together with its partner organizations Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS), ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), and TI Solutions AG (TI Solutions), form the Zurich43 alliance. Z43’s dedicated mission is to expand the knowledge and technology for (i) characterization, optimization, and application of the electromagnetic (EM) near-field, (ii) predictive modeling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies, and (iii) medical applications.
Your challenges:- Support Windows, MacOS and Linux end-users with application and operating system issues
- Diagnose and repair hardware failures in desktops, laptops, servers, high-performance computing systems, and printers
- Maintain internal IT systems, including file servers, database-backed web services, directory and authentication services, client management, and network security
- Maintain and optimize system backups
- Install and maintain physical network infrastructure
- Manage VoIP system
- Document systems and procedures
- Familiarity with all major types of operating systems, Windows and Apple MacOS is required. Knowledge about Linux and Solaris systems is beneficial
- Experience using and troubleshooting computers and electronics, ideally with formal training in computer repair
- Ability to work non-standard hours if needed
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the highest quality standard of work
- Self-motivation, good organizational and communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, friendly personality with the ability to both teach and learn quickly, and team spirit
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to work independently in a fast-paced setting, and to meet tight deadlines
- Commitment to effectively respond to the needs of partners and customers
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken), ability to communicate in German is a plus
