This position reports to
EL Commercial Operations Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team in executing purchasing and logistics strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and supplier reliability, as well as the reliability of supplied products. Each day, you will ensure that tasks are executed in accordance with company and Procurement team instructions and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.The work model for this role is hybrid.This role contributes to the Electrification business area in Switzerland. The main stakeholders are the various local EL Divisions.Your key responsibilities will include:• Developing both internal and external supplier networks, negotiating terms and conditions, and conducting supplier evaluations and audits.• Managing and maintaining inventory, ensuring availability, and handling required master data management.• Continuously optimizing SCM performance indicators (alignment of quantity, quality, time, and cost) and related process chains. You will also drive and initiate improvements within the team and provide solutions tailored to individual business areas. Implementing digital solutions within the framework of Continuous Improvement.• Networking Supply Chain Management within the ABB organization and fostering trusted collaboration with other committees and projects within the business unit. You will also support internal controls.
Qualifications for the role
- Technical background with relevant further education and several years of professional experience in the field.
- Well-versed in the legal and economic aspects of procurement and contracts.
- Experienced in inventory management and logistics.
- Proficient in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong affinity for processes and their optimization.
- Proactive work style with high self-motivation.
