NKT PHOTONICS IS LOOKING FOR A PRODUCTION ENGINEER IN REGENSDORF, SWITZERLAND
JOB OVERVIEW
Production of complex laser systems including assembly, alignment, optimization, and final test.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Autonomous production of various laser products including
- Preproduction tasks and subassembly manufacturing
- Complete assembly of complex high-power mode-locked solidstate laser systems to meet customers’ requirements
- Complete performance testing and qualification
- In-house servicing
- Maintenance and improvement of product and production documentation
- Calibration and maintenance of production equipment
- Identify and document process issues and initiate improvement actions
- New product introduction
KEY INTERACTIONS
With the Manufacturing Engineering and Quality department, Research and Development, Production line and Planning.
LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
Manages own priorities and initiatives. Works within policy and monitors policy. Responsible for own competencies and addresses any gaps in capability.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Relevant degree qualification desirable, Master in Photonics, Physics or similar. Tertiary vocational qualification at a minimum and relevant Quality qualification.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Organised, structured and methodical. Laser manufacturing, hands-on, analytical, and target-oriented work attitude. Manufacturing techniques such as SPC, Six Sigma and Lean Sigma Principles. Communication and team building skills.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
At least two years of experience in the photonics industry. Experience of building and testing solid state laser systems and ensuring laser alignment meets specifications. Experience with engineering documentation; bill of materials, work instructions, and assembly process documentation for new products. Experience working in ISO9001 controlled development processes. Solid multidisciplinary engineering experience in Opto-mechanics and free space laser systems. Experience interacting with a broad range of other engineers.
