PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Global People, Culture & Organization (PCO)Investigations Specialist is responsible for structuring and conducting People & Culture-related investigations, ensuring impartiality in examining allegations of misconduct, irregularities or malpractice related to HR topics. This position reports to the Chief People, Culture & Organization Officer with a dotted reporting line to the Global Director of Internal Audit and the Compliance Department / Chief Compliance Officer. The role can be based in Basel, Switzerland or Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Investigations & Compliance

Conducts thorough and impartial investigations into allegations of misconduct or malpractice (discrimination, harassment, favoritism, bad leadership, etc.)

Investigates allegations or cases of irregularities within the People, Culture & Organization department(s)

Gathers and analyzes evidence, including documents, emails, and interviews with relevant parties

Maintains confidentiality and ensures the integrity of the investigation process

Prepares detailed investigation reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations

Monitors and tracks HR investigation progress and outcomes to ensure timely resolution
Policy Development & Legal Compliance

Creates and revises HR-related internal policies based on internal findings or external developments

Stays updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to HR investigations

Collaborates with HR, legal, compliance, and other departments regarding company policies and legal requirements

Works closely with the Compliance department on Avolta’s whistleblowing process and handles complaints received through Avolta’s whistleblowing tool
Training, Support & Process Improvement

Develops tools (templates, trainings, etc.) and executes tests for global investigations

Provides guidance, improvements, and support to employees and management on HR investigation procedures

Establishes an impartial and neutral position within the company, and among leadership and employees
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
-
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
-
Previous experience in internal or external auditing, with a focus on conducting investigations, preferably in the HR area

Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to HR and workplace investigations

Professional certifications in auditing or human resources (e.g., CIA, SHRM-CP)

Experience using auditing tools and HR management software

Experience in multicultural environments and fraud detection and investigation

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality

Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels

Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously
