The Environmental Performance and Data Analytics Specialist will be responsible for supporting a wide range of environmental management topics, including but not limited to performance management, data collection and reporting, and training. This role will be instrumental in managing tasks required to drive world-class environmental and sustainability performance. How you’ll make an impact

Support the global environmental data reporting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements

Manage global environmental dashboards, ensuring they are fit for purpose and connected with relevant data warehouses (e.g., Tetris)

Manage internal and external reporting related to environmental sustainability disclosures regarding operational environmental and sustainability data

Support the management and development of environmental standards and guidelines in the Global HSE Operating System

Monitor global environmental improvement projects and other qualitative environmental data

Support the company in any environmental data-related needs (including validation, qualifications, internal improvement projects, etc.), either directly or by involving the subject matter expert in the organization

Play a key role in the ongoing design governance of the environmental and sustainability technology platforms, reviewing proposed changes to maintain design integrity and exploring opportunities to maximize the return on investment through cross-module capabilities

Maintain environmental and sustainability system knowledge materials using the appropriate company tools

Perform environmental and sustainability data analysis on the systems to measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement

Support Hitachi Energy reporting activities by extracting environmental and sustainability data from the systems on a periodic basis and conducting analysis to help leaders understand strengths and weaknesses in their organization’s performance
Your background

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI or equivalent (e.g., Qlik) and IT interfaces with various data sources and ERP systems

Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management or a related field

Proven experience in managing environmental data

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders

Proficiency in environmental and sustainability enterprise platforms (e.g., Intelex, Sphera, Enablon) is highly desirable

Operational experience managing environmental and sustainability digital systems

Working knowledge of data structures (relational SQL), including data analysis. Experience writing queries to retrieve and manipulate data as well as using visualization tools

Project management (PM), agile, lean, and/or Six Sigma (DMAIC) skills
-
High knowledge of ESG-related standards and regulations (e.g., CSRD, GRI, etc.)
