Main duties
The Group Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing and managing the enterprise data architecture to support business objectives and digital transformation initiatives. In addition to strategic data architecture issues, working with the latest cutting-edge technologies (e.g. MS Fabric) for project delivery will be part of the role.
This role will ensure effective governance, security and scalability of data solutions across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data strategy, cloud technologies and modern data platforms to ensure seamless data integration and management.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Strategy & Architecture: Develop and maintain the enterprise-wide data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives by leveraging the latest leading-edge technologies, e.g., MS Fabric Data Analytics Platform
- Data Governance: Establish data governance frameworks, policies and best practices to ensure data quality, compliance and security. In addition, we are driving our Group-wide initiative to standardize master data and integrate country-specific databases into our Group Data Analytics Platform.
- Cloud & On-Premises Solutions: Develop scalable data solutions using cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and on-premises infrastructure as needed.
- Integration & Interoperability: Define and implement data integration strategies to ensure seamless data flow across applications, databases, and systems.
- Data Modeling & Design: Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to optimize data storage, retrieval, and performance.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and implement robust security measures.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and data analysts to understand data needs and drive value from data assets.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend data management technologies, tools, and best practices to improve data capabilities.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor data architecture performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor data engineers, analysts, and other IT professionals on data architecture best practices.
Professional competence
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or related field.
- Experience: At least 5-8 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of data management frameworks, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and related data services.
- Proficiency with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Familiarity with big data technologies and data lake architectures.
- Experience with API-based data integration and microservices.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications (Preferred): Azure Data Certifications, CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), or equivalent.
