Organizational context - Nutreco Exploration is the ingredient development partner for Nutreco businesses.

• The purpose of Nutreco Exploration (aka NutEx) is to create value for Nutreco in the scope of two programs: Phytotechnology and Microtechnology. Within that scope, the NutEx operating model is to: Discover, Create, and Produce new products for the Nutreco businesses.
• The vison of NutEx is to develop a portfolio of proprietary added value products to improve performance, health, welfare of pets and food producing animals and fish. The products developed by NutEx are associated with patents, regulatory approvals and solid scientific understanding of their basic mechanisms and efficacy.
• To execute its vision, NutEx has created a team with discovery, development and production specialists and its all-under-one-roof facility Nutreco’s Garden of the Future in Arbon, in the Phyto-Valley of Switzerland.

About The Role - Portfolio & Tools Manager

Organization: Nutreco Exploration (NutEx)

Reports into: Lucia Luijben, Upstream Manager

Role summary: The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage NutEx’ project portfolio and all NutEx tools (e.g., collaborative platform, Tech. Updates, etc.). This is a dynamic and highly interactive role, ideally filled by someone who is well organized and flexible. Having finance experience is key; having innovation project management is a plus. The ideal candidate would have interest in Nutreco’s industry and mission, and particularly in product innovation. The Portfolio & Tools Manager will operate transversally across the 2 NutEx programs and functions and will work with Nutreco Corporate and Business Lines.

Responsibilities:

• Portfolio Management: Own the NutEx financial model, create and update business cases with the project owners. Track and report on value creation, and project and portfolio progress and performance.
• Resource management: Manage project and portfolio budgets and follow up on actuals. Align portfolio and resource decisions with the strategic goals of NutEx and its Business Partners.
• Finance support and reporting: Integrated profit reporting on NutEx products across Nutreco. Set up and execute recurring royalty calculations with business partners. Support internal NutEx and Corporate Finance function with finance activities and process improvements.
• Tools management: Be responsible for the continuous improvement and implementation of the NutEx tools. Train team members in its use and audit its effectiveness.

Skills and expertise qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
• Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial data, assess project viability, and make strategic recommendations.
• Experience in project & portfolio management, resource allocation, preferably in a global organization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Fluency in English.· Soft skills such as connectivity, adaptability, flexibility, thriving in dynamic and complex environments, proactive approach to problem-solving.
