The role of Senior Manager for Demand Management is multifaceted and demands a mix of technical expertise, strategic oversight, and leadership skills. Here’s a breakdown of the responsibilities and key expectations:
Core Responsibilities
Demand Management
Act as the primary point of contact for Data & Analytics (D&A) demand management.
Evaluate and analyze incoming demands to prioritize effectively and align with organizational goals.
Ensure seamless partner engagement, driving collaboration across departments.
Portfolio Management
Serve as a subject matter authority (SME) for portfolio.
What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?
This role helps D&A in the timely and effective delivery of projects through structural demand management and Portfolio management. The incoming candidate will be taking over the entire demand management and Financial management of D&A
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Here are the key accountabilities for a Senior Demand/Portfolio Management Manager in an FMCG Data Analytics department:
- Demand and Workflow Management: Evaluate and prioritize data analytics requests based on impact and feasibility, streamline intake processes, and ensure efficient workflow and open communication with partners.
- Portfolio Oversight: Maintain a comprehensive view of D&A projects, supervise important metrics, lead risks, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Resource and Financial Management: Optimize prioritization, develop and supervise budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and supervise financial performance with actionable insights.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Lead vendor selection, coordinate contract compliance and SLA adherence, and cultivate positive relationships with service providers for long-term value.
- Partner Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as the liaison for senior management, ensuring alignment and effective communication on priorities and challenges.
- Strategic Innovation: Advocate for emerging trends in data analytics, providing insights to guide strategic planning and decision-making.
- Change and Leadership Management: Lead change initiatives, adapt processes to evolving business needs, and drive collaboration between analytics teams and business units.
- Unified Operations: Implement systems and processes for coordinated demand and portfolio management across the global D&A landscape
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s in commerce or business studies, Master's or equivalent experience in Computer Science, and relevant certifications in Project and Portfolio Management are preferred.
- Experience: 10-15 years in data analytics, financial management, and project management, with FMCG proven experience.
- Demand Management: Expertise in capturing and analyzing requirements, optimizing workflows, aligning stakeholders, and making data-driven decisions based on business value.
- Portfolio Management: Proficiency in managing multiple projects, optimizing prioritisation, assessing risks, and supervising important metrics to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Financial Management: Strong experience in budgeting, cost optimization, financial reporting, and vendor cost oversight, ensuring financial performance aligns with goals.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Proven track record to lead cross-functional teams, resolve conflicts, drive organizational change, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
- Technical & Analytical Skills: Knowledge of data analytics tools and methodologies, familiarity with portfolio management and financial management software, and expertise in process improvement frameworks (Lean, Agile, Six Sigma).
- Vendor & Contract Management: Skilled in vendor evaluation, SLA management, and building long-term relationships with service providers.
