We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced professional to join our team as the Deputy Head of Operations. This role is crucial in managing and executing high-quality events within the European Cricket Network (ECN).
Job Summary:
As the Deputy Head of Operations, you will be the highest-ranking officer responsible for overseeing the entire event management process for the European Cricket Series (ECS). Including the planning, execution and evaluation of all operational aspects of the ECS events. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in event management, strong leadership skills, and a passion for cricket.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement operational strategies for events in alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of operations with marketing, finance, and event programming.
- Event Management
- Oversee all operational components of ECS events, including venue selection, logistics, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Serve as a role model and ambassador for the ECN, fostering a positive and professional environment while encouraging high standards among team members.
- Partner with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to develop and implement comprehensive event plans, coordinating logistics and fulfilling all event requirements.
- Work closely with LOCs and major partners to create, review, and finalize fixtures, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and event goals.
- Project Management & Onsite Support:
- Travel to ECS events to oversee and execute all aspects of event delivery, either by managing the chief project manager or by directly serving as the chief project manager when needed.
- Assist in the setup, management, and successful delivery of marquee ECN events (ECL, ECC, ECC-W).
- Provide training, guidance, and remote support to project managers, equipping them with essential skills for success.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess performance and implement improvements for future events.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Develop new strategies and techniques to enhance the efficiency, quality, and overall success of ECN events.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Introduce new technologies and processes to streamline operations and improve attendee experiences.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of cricket, with a deep passion for European cricket and its development.
- 5+ years of experience in event management, with a focus on international cricket events.
- Proven track record of successfully managing events from inception to completion.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with a strong ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Technological skills, including experience with Palantir.
- Proficient in English; additional languages, particularly Spanish and Hindi, are an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Willingness to travel frequently, including extended stays abroad, and to work flexible hours as needed, including nights and weekends.
- This is a full-time position (100%) based in Forch, Switzerland, with no option for home office.
