The Center for Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (CRS) at ETH Zurich develops new innovative radiolabelled pharmaceuticals for diagnosis and therapy. It offers state of the art infrastructure and equipment to perform research from ’bench-to-bedside’.

Project background

Radiopharmaceuticals are important molecular probes for the non-invasive detection of diseases with very high sensitivity. At the CRS we are developing and testing novel 18F-labelled radiopharmaceuticals for the detection of neurodegeneration, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. To achieve this goal, we also investigate novel chemistry and radiolabelling protocols.

Job description

The mission of our multidisciplinary research focus in organic chemistry and radiochemistry is to develop innovative fluorine-18 radiochemistry for medicine. You will be responsible for exploring novel chemistry in the cold lab, in particular the investigation of novel fluorination methods/reagents and the synthesis of precursors for radiolabelling. Furthermore, you will get trained for performing independently 18F-radiolabelling experiments in the HCI Isotope Labs.

Additionally, you will also be involved in teaching by supervising practical laboratory courses and bachelor/master theses.
