Are you passionate about weather and its impact on energy markets? At Axpo, you'll support our Meteorology desk, analyze meteorological data, and contribute to exciting projects that connect meteorology with the future of energy.

What you will do:


  • Support the Meteorology desk by compiling and analyzing meteorological data for daily operational reports.

  • Develop insightful visualizations and presentations to aid forecasting tasks.

  • Collaborate on projects exploring the impact of weather regimes on European power and gas markets.

  • Perform literature reviews, research, and test project results with the team.

  • Analyze meteorological datasets, including reanalysis data, to enhance medium-to-extended range forecasting.

  • Use Python (or other programming languages) to analyze data and build operational forecasting tools.

What you bring & who you are:


  • A Master's degree (or close to graduating) in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of atmospheric dynamics; familiarity with subseasonal to seasonal predictability is a plus.

  • Passion for meteorology and its applications in energy markets.

  • Proficiency in Python (preferred) or other languages like R or Matlab.

  • Experience with meteorological datasets (e.g., reanalysis or satellite data).

  • Bonus: knowledge of hydrology or hydrological modeling.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
