As our new Senior R&D Structural Engineer, you will join our Global Multi-Physic Simulation (GLOMUS) network team in the Technology Center of HITACHI-Energy. You will be part of a group of key people with specific expertise in the fields of electrical, structural, acoustic, thermo-mechanic and fluid-dynamics analyses, simulation and testing.

Your responsibilities

Finite Element simulation of structures subject to all types of static and dynamic loads (fatigue, shock, short-circuit, seismic, lifting etc.)

Develop of new automations for the structural, thermomechanical and acoustic assessment of products

Run feasibility studies, develop new technical concepts, design new products and simulate their expected performances

Organize prototyping and testing activities to validate new technologies/products

Lead product and technology development in the field of Dry, Traction and Oil Distribution Transformer, delivering results on time and on budget at agreed scope and quality

Support the transfer of technology and knowledge from R&D to engineering department by writing design rules, preparing trainings and collaborating with design tolls team

Provide technical support to other departments when needed (engineering, product management, marketing, and sales etc.)
Your background
-
PhD / MSc education in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering field

Several years of relevant work experience in Mechanical Engineering

Advanced knowledge of structures subject to seismic, fatigue, shock and thermal loads

Experience in the finite element analysis and in the use of ANSYS Workbench suite

Knowledge of the following programming languages: MATLAB, Visual Basic, Python

Solid bases in vibrational fatigue and structures dynamic

Project management skills with an action and results oriented-mindset, coupled with innovated, out of the box thinking

Excellent communication skills in English, a robust team spirit, and willingness to travel
