The company’s short-term priorities include building up out of engineering team, putting into place production facilities, and creating a north American subsidiary.
About the role
As the Electrical Propulsion Unit (EPU) System Engineer, you will be responsible for the system definition from design to entry in service. You will be part of the Part-21J Design Organization (DO) and its Item & System team.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Definition/update of the system architecture, requirements and interfaces according to the upper level requirements (including certification and safety requirements)
- Provide verification and compliance demonstration evidences (analysis, test procedures, ground and/or flight test procedures, ...)
- Support aircraft level integration activities including redaction of manuals
- Creation / amending the engineering content of deliverables (all development related documentation such as reports, analysis, test procedures, etc.) during development activities and compliance demonstration (Under EASA, FAA,...)
- Ensure that the overall Electrical Propulsion System meets the specified safety and certification compliance requirements.
- Perform Analysis of the Electrical Network of new electric propulsion systems
- Perform bench, ground and flight tests of new electric propulsion systems
- Basic knowledge on Electrical Load Analysis (ELA)
Your Profile:
- University degree (min. bachelor) in a relevant engineering discipline (System engineering, Aerospace engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems).
- Demonstrated experience and expertise typically 5+ years with Aicraft Systems, Electrical Networks and/or Power Electronics.
- Good understanding of aviation standards (SAE ARP, DO-160, DO-178, MIL, ISO, ...) in the field of activity. Equivalent standards in other industries also considered (e.g. Automotive, Railway, Medical)
- Basic understanding of EASA Part 21, EASA Certification Specifications and certification principles would be an advantage (MDL, TC, SB ...)
- Familiarity with electronic communication protocols would be an advantage (ICD's, RS485, RS232,...).
- Familiarity with safety in aerospace (MTBF, MTTR, SSA; FMEA,...)
- EMI/EMC basic knowledge is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to follow through and bring projects to its completion.
- Target-oriented, with analytic problem-solving capabilities
- Well organized including the ability to properly document
- Capacity to prioritize, manage time effectively and multi-task
- Good communication skills
- Fluency in English (oral and written), French an asset.
