That is why we come to work each day. We commit ourselves to scientific rigor, unassailable ethics, and access to medical innovations for all. We do this today to build a better tomorrow.

In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED) , we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. At pRED, we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines. Together, we create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility and humility, where our talented people are empowered and inspired to bring forward extraordinary life-changing innovation at speed. This position is located in ADME, a chapter within global Pharmaceutical Sciences, where the fate of new chemical entities and biologics is a primary focus. The ADME Chapter works throughout all stages of compound development, from lead optimization to candidate selection, all clinicaldevelopment phases to filing of new drug applications. We closely collaborate with our therapeutic areas and functions to convert hypotheses into innovative therapeutics.

Job mission

During the internship in in vitro ADME of biologics, you will generate experimental data in order to assess the fate of new biologics R&D candidates in the disease area of neurosciences. The main focus will be to establish a new in vitro assay to study uptake and recycling of antibodies and better understand pharmacokinetics (PK) properties of drug candidates.

Your impact

  • Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will gain hands-on experience in state-of-the art methodologies (e.g. in vitro cellular models, ELISA and microscopy techniques) to assess PK properties of drug candidates.

  • You will learn how to develop, optimize and validate in vitro cellular models as well as quantitative methodologies to support drug development of biologics.

  • You will document the experimental set-up, protocols and results with high scientific standards.

Who You are:

An ambitious student currently enrolled in a life sciences program, preferably in molecular life science or biology, and pursuing either your bachelor's or master's degree; or you have completed your degree within the past 12 months.

Furthermore, You:

  • have hands-on experience with common cell culture and molecular biology techniques, in particular with analytical techniques for the characterization and quantification of monoclonal antibodies (ELISA, microscopy, WB).

  • are eager to learn new in vitro techniques, comfortable with troubleshooting, and willing to repeat experiments multiple times as needed.

  • have an excellent command of both spoken and written English.

Duration: 6–12 months – starting in March 2025
