The Inter-Community School Zurich (ICS), an esteemed IB World School, is searching for a passionate Secondary Librarian to join our dynamic and supportive team. Job Summary

As a Secondary Librarian, you will inspire students to explore, engage, and grow by fostering a culture of discovery and lifelong learning. Beyond managing library resources, you will play a pivotal role in teaching information literacy, promoting digital learning, and guiding students in their academic and personal development.

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver engaging library sessions and support curriculum goals for Grades 6–12.
  • Organize events like author visits and promote reading across the school community.
  • Integrate technology and innovative tools to enhance the learning experience.

Curriculum & Development

  • Support the development of information literacy and research skills.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Department and IB Coordinators to align resources with IB DP and MYP frameworks.
  • Enrich learning by sourcing and managing engaging, up-to-date materials.

Social & Emotional Support

  • Mentor students as a tutor/homeroom teacher and teach the Personal Development Programme.
  • Partner with the Secondary Pastoral Oversight Team (SPOT) to ensure students’ welfare.
  • Celebrate cultural diversity and encourage global connections.

Library Administration

  • Maintain a welcoming, well-organized library space and up-to-date catalogue.
  • Train students and staff to effectively search for and utilize resources ethically.
  • Lead academic honesty initiatives and support the creation of the library budget.

Collaborative Culture

  • Supervise and support students’ Personal Projects and Extended Essays.
  • Participate in school events, assemblies, and extracurricular programs.
  • Contribute actively to team and departmental meetings.
