For every child, a champion

UNICEF seeks a Fundraising Specialist (Personalization & Experimentation) to work with the Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) in Geneva to provide support to teams across UNICEF.

The main purpose of the job is to support markets with experimentation &testing, audience personalization, CRO, and audience-centricity campaigns.

To achieve these results, the professional will support four geographical squads (Central 1, Central 2, Aurora, Sunrise) to ensure Optimizely tool implementation (new global giving CRO platform) and correct application of the personalization strategy across 25 new markets that were onboarded this year. The goal is to increase their digital fundraising activities and maximize results, providing additional capacity and capability by ensuring the squads have correct test and learn measurement framework across the whole year for both cash and pledge campaigns. The incumbent will provide technical fundraising expertise and guidance on optimizing personalization experiences and testing to maximize revenue.

How can you make a difference ?

Personalization Strategy and Roadmap:

  • Develop and implement a personalization strategy that aligns with UNICEF’s audience-centric strategic business objectives.
  • Create a long-term roadmap for personalization initiatives, identifying opportunities and prioritizing projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the personalization strategy is aligned and supported.

Experimentation and A/B Testing:

  • Design and execute A/B tests and other experiments to optimize the website, mobile app, and digital experiences.
  • Analyze test results, interpret data, and provide recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish a culture of experimentation and data-driven decision-making.

Personalization Engine Management:

  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of personalization platforms and technologies.
  • Ensure the personalization engine is configured and optimized to deliver personalized experiences.
  • Manage and coordinate with the technical team responsible for integrating and maintaining the personalization platform.

Content and Experience Personalization:

  • Work with content, marketing, and product teams to identify personalization opportunities and implement targeted experiences.
  • Develop and manage personalized content, offers, and recommendations for various customer segments and touchpoints.
  • Ensure personalized experiences are consistent across channels and devices.

Customer Segmentation and Targeting:

  • Analyze customer data, behavior, and preferences to create detailed customer segments.
  • Develop targeting strategies to deliver personalized experiences to specific customer groups.
  • Collaborate with data and analytics teams to leverage customer insights for effective personalization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and support to team members on personalization techniques and tools.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the personalization program and implement innovative solutions.
  • Continuously test, learn and iterate to improve the effectiveness of personalization efforts.

Deliverables:

  • Deliver a comprehensive personalization strategy and 2-year roadmap document, including specific goals, initiatives, and KPIs.
  • Achieve buy-in and alignment from key stakeholders on the personalization strategy.
  • Execute a minimum of 12 A/B tests or experiments per year per market, with a 75% success rate (defined as statistically significant lift in key metrics).
  • Demonstrate an average of 5-10% improvement in key business metrics (e.g., conversion rate, revenue per visitor, cash to pledge ratio) through successful experiments.
  • Achieve a 15% increase in engagement and conversion rates for personalized experiences compared to non-personalized ones.
  • Deliver personalized experiences to at least 50% of the website/app traffic within the first 12 months.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive customer segmentation model, with at least 10 distinct segments.
  • Demonstrate a 20% increase in customer lifetime value for targeted and personalized segments within the first 12 months.
  • Demonstrate a 10% year-over-year improvement in the overall effectiveness of the personalization program.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

Education:

  • An advanced University Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Fundraising, or other relevant fields is required. Any other additional training in a related field is an asset.
  • Alternatively, a first-level University Degree in a relevant field combined with (2) additional years of qualifying professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

  • A minimum offive years of progressively responsible work experience in international digital campaigns, marketing, and digital fundraising areas, with a specific focus on areas such as digital acquisition, digital analytics, CRO, personalization and retention of pledge donors, integrated media planning, and marketing communications and multi-channel campaign management is required.
  • Experience in the above in both agency and charity environments is an asset.
  • Analytics and tracking, A/B testing, CRO, SEO, online paid media, web and do-nation forms development, UX, Optimizely platform is required.
  • Experience with UN and UNICEF is an asset.
  • Experience of Google Big Query and Salesforce, coding, content management systems, search engine marketing, marketing automation tools, and e-mail broadcasting tools is an asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is an asset.

Language Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English is required.
  • Knowledge of Spanish and other official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian) is an asset.
