The Hotel and Tourism Management institute (HTMi) located in Sörenberg, Canton Lucerne is seeking a Culinary Instructor including strong Bakery & Pastry skills to join our culinary team at HTMi. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both culinary arts, pastry and baking techniques, creativity, and a keen eye for detail, along with a desire to mentor the next generation of chefs.
Key Responsibilities:
· The preparation and delivery of formal baking and pastry practical sessions to culinary students, ensuring they learn essential techniques in a hands-on, professional environment.
· Oversee the preparation of a wide range of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for the schools dining outlets and special events.
· Manage inventory, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients. Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
· Support the Executive Chef and culinary team within the main production kitchen.
The ideal candidate should have:
· Proven experience as a culinary instructor or in a similar role, with formal training from a culinary school preferred.
· Strong knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation, presentation, and plating.
· Excellent attention to detail and creativity in developing recipes.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
· Strong communication and leadership skills for training students and working within a team.
· Passion for culinary education and mentoring aspiring chefs.
· A very good command of the English language.
Contract
This is a permanent position with 80% - 100% workload.
Employment start
Available Immediately.
Permit
Must be Swiss, or have a valid working permit for Switzerland (B or C) or an EU citizen.
