The Position
The rAAV Upstream Development Research Associate will be involved in the production and purification of recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) within the Viral Technologies team in the NABM-Genomic Medicine department at pRED.
Besides supporting rAAV production and purification the candidate will be involved in process developments to improve the current production and purification platform as well as research experiments related to the field. Additionally, the individual may contribute to the implementation of documentation, production scale up, troubleshooting and data analysis in order to support the supply of research-grade rAAV vectors.
The requirements of this position:

BSc or MSc in Biotechnology, Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related discipline; MSc preferred

2+ years relevant work experience in the life sciences industry

Hands-on experience working with viral vectors

Aseptic cell culture and handling (transfection, cell culture, buffer preparation) and molecular biology techniques (dPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, Western Blot)

CsCl and Iodoxanol, FPLC/HPLC, column chromatography purification

Experience in BSL2 environments

Fluent in English
