The Position
Responsibilities
You will work on the development of a regression-based model for chronic Heart Failure (HF) management. Specifically, you will work on predicting individual HF risk at specific times of interest, leveraging the association with the event of interest, prognostic factors, and longitudinal endogenous covariates.
During the internship, your tasks will include:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the research question
- Prepare summary statistics
- Develop a statistical prediction model & internal validation
- Compare performance with state-of-the-art AI/ML solutions
- Present your research progress and results via presentation and/or poster sessions, both internally and at international conferences
Who You Are
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program, or MSc graduate in Statistics
- Background in statistics/biostatistics/applied statistics
- Experience with mixed-effect regression models
- Experience with Bayesian inference is desirable
- Familiarity with AI/ML models desirable
- Proficient with R or Python
- Good communication skills
- You are fluent in spoken and written English
Eligibility
- You are currently enrolled in a Master's degree program at a university or graduated within the last 12 months before the start date OR you are currently enrolled in a PhD program.
- For non-EU/EFTA citizens: due to regulations, enrollment at the university for the entire internship is required and a letter from the university stating that the internship is mandatory for your studies. The letter should also specify the required length of the internship.Please upload this mandatory letter and your enrollment certificate along with your CV and motivation letter.
