Teaching Assistant Position for "The Law and Regulation of AI" Seminar

Professor Talia Gillis, who is visiting the Law, Economics, and Business research group, from Columbia University is teaching a seminar on “The Law and Regulation of AI”. She is searching for:

Teaching Assistant

The offices are located in downtown Zurich, and the working language is English. She is looking for a highly motivated student with a keen interest in joining us as teaching assistant for the new seminar.

Job description

Teaching assistants will support the Professor Gillis in preparing teaching materials and performing research for the seminar. The seminar will explore some of the most pressing legal and ethical challenges associated with the growing deployment of AI in critical domains and will cover legal and policy responses in both the United States and Europe. Topics that will be discussed in the seminar include algorithmic fairness, privacy and explainability, offering a comparative perspective on how different jurisdictions are addressing responsible AI.

Salaries are competitive and paid according to  ETH standards .

Profile

  • Enrolment in a university (preferably advanced Bachelor or Master level)
  • Excellent grades and, preferably, some prior experience in research support and managing course materials.
  • Strong interest in the intersection of law and technology.
