With around 180 employees, Switch supports Switzerland's universities, research institutions, and critical infrastructure organizations on their way to a secure and trustworthy digital age. Our Trust and Identity group is looking for a Product Owner to join leadership of the value stream. We need a motivated and thoughtful colleague to help grow and develop Switch edu-ID (the Swiss digital identity for life long learning) and to contribute to the vision, strategy and business of the trust and identity portfolio at Switch.
We are a group of twelve working on the applications to deliver a range of services including Switch edu-ID, eduroam, Switch Sign and IAM. We operate on DevOps principles, specifically we are responsible for the design, development and operations of those services and also deliver customer solutions and advanced support and consultancy.
Product Owner Digital Identity Services (80-100%, all genders)
- You consolidate a picture of the most important needs and problems for our community in the field of trust and identity.
- You ensure operational, outreach and strategic service Switch edu-ID roadmaps are created and that they are lived by the team.
- You make sure every day that we are working on the right priorities for Switch edu-ID at the right time and that the team knows what needs to be done.
- You work closely with an Agile Coach to motivate and enable the team to deliver.
- You support the business owner by delivering budgeting and by capacity planning, managing costs and evolving the business case.
- You know the most important trends and markets for digital identities.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
- You have worked with hands on engineering teams and are respected by them for your leadership.
- A proven track record of prioritisation and decision making for products.
- Proven experience in product vision, pricing and budgeting.
- Technical familiarity with trust and identity technologies e.g. SAML, OIDC.
- Strong emotional intelligence and empathy for customers.
- Excellent written and spoken english.
- We're on the critical path for over a million users daily.
- Our main technologies are Java and PHP.
- Our main developer environment and platforms are Kubernetes and Gitlab and we develop and maintain our end to end pipelines.
