Global Changemakers Program Coordinator 80-100%

After its initial creation in 1973 as the Jubilee Foundation, the Z Zurich Foundation (“the Foundation”) was re-established in 2008 to promote community investment opportunities. Since then, thanks to significantly increased funding from the Zurich Group and ever increasing support of Zurich employees, it has grown to support programming across the world in four distinct pillars (Adapting to climate change, Improving mental wellbeing, Enabling social equity and Responding to crisis). To date, more than 11 million vulnerable people have been supported, and we aspire to impact the lives of a further 25 million vulnerable people by 2027.

Thanks to our extensive experience, and now broad portfolio of grants, our partner-centric programming approach is firmly established. However, as much of our programming focuses on young people, we see huge opportunity to learn by building on our existing relationship with One Young World to further expand our support to young changemakers. Harnessing the resources at our disposal from both the Foundation and the wider Zurich Group, we aim to build a world-class scholarship program in which young changemakers are supported in their growth journey, in turn ensuring their experiences shape the future of our youth-focused programming.

What you will do

  • Develop our new approach to supporting young changemakers, based on the recent Board approval;
  • Oversee the application process and due diligence, ensuring those selected represent the greatest opportunity for the Foundation to invest its resources;
  • Manage the relationship with key partners that support the program, including One Young World (end-to-end management of the Foundation’s participation at their annual summit, Foundation led events and speaking opportunities at and around the summit, and coordination with any local BU as appropriate);
  • Work with the wider ZZF team to construct appropriate governance structures for program management reviews and decision making;
  • Develop skills-based volunteering opportunities that capacity build organisations led by these changemakers;
  • Work with the Foundation’s Communications team to craft an annual comms plan, building awareness of our program internally and externally, and promoting impact stories deriving from the program where appropriate;
  • Conduct regular benchmarking of other similar programs to ensure we learn from their experiences and use that knowledge to enrich our program, and remain relevant and attractive;
  • Develop metrics that will help us determine the impact of the program, with a view to proposing a way forward after the initial 3 year pilot is complete, in conjunction with the Foundation’s Impact Lead;
  • Work with business units and leaders across the Zurich Group to leverage opportunities to raise the profile of these changemakers within Zurich and our network;
  • Manage the annual Changemakers Program budget;
  • Represent the Foundation at key events relating to young changemakers as necessary.
