Sr. Manager VAT

VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Senior Manager VAT to join our team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

As European VAT Sr.manager, you are responsible for managing all aspects of indirect taxation for all principal companies and LRD entities in Europe. This position requires a strong leadership quality as well as a solid technical, professional, and motivated skill set that aligns well with the company’s focus on expansion in the international arena. Supervision, collaboration and coordination with external outsourcing partners are an important part of the role.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Being the “Go to person” in a business leading role for finance and non-finance VF professionals for indirect tax subjects.
  • Focus on the alignment and collaboration with all business units (e.g. accounting department, credit department, customer service, customs, corporate tax, etc.) in order to safeguard the indirect tax and finance requirements in the business decisions and changes.
  • Control the work performed by the Accounting BPO partner and the Indirect Tax outsourcing.
  • In order to get a good risk management, coordinate and review  the ITX compliance responsibilities (VAT, Intrastat and other VAT related reporting) in Europe.
    • Ensure correctness of the Indirect Tax reporting
    • Ensure due dates are met for Indirect Tax reporting and payments
    • Ensure reconciliations between declarations with the ERP-system
    • Supervision of the set-up and maintenance of Indirect Tax reporting tools to deal with VAT and Intrastat compliance in Europe
  • Manage VAT audits and other questions from tax authorities and other external parties
  • Coordinate other Indirect Tax related projects (e.g. bad debt recovery, e-invoicing, e-commerce)
  • Provide guidance and instructions to other finance and non-finance departments on Indirect Tax related topics
  • Look for continuous improvement on efficiency and accuracy of the indirect tax cycle on a European level
  • Organise training sessions related to indirect tax for finance and non finance professionals when needed

Skills for Success

  • Education Level: University Degree
  • Relevant Experience: 3-5 year experience in Big 4
  • Effective communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Hands-on
  • Strategic contacts within VF and external parties
  • Solution-minded
  • Risk management
